Major progress between showers:
Frames 9 -13 are in place and a whole lot of metal got cut for the engine room girders and all the engine room frame stiffeners.
Once again we encountered a kink in the hull, we welded a plate and applied a 5ton ratchet to help shape the boat corectly. pics to follow with daylight!.
Sheer size of hull really dominating the garden, actually a mud bath now!
In darkness 2 frames to go.!
More pics of completed bits tomorrow... that's if it doesn't rain again.

Hi, awesome project you have there. I saw your comment on Dave's web site and decided to check out yours. One question... will you be able to get her out of the back yard when she's done??? Hope so ;-)
My name is Vic and my blog is here

Best of luck to you.....
PS,
I've added a link on my blog for others to access your blog from my site...

That picture in front of the mud bath, er... I mean garden, sure does give a good perspective on just how big it is.
It sucks working in the wet (amperage enough to melt metal or kill you and wet conditions, not a good mix), keep safe.

Hi Vic, Welcome and thanks for the link.
In May of 2009 we will have to widen my driveway to 11 feet to allow a 130 ton crane in to lift and move the boat 2 times to just inside a row of trees on a different lawn, then he will go to the road and pluck it out over the trees. Should be fun! but all is possible.
Hi Ray, glad to see you on again.
The other side of the boat and the front and back are all solid grouns with stone, we are using all waterproof cables and connectors. its all protected with earth leakage gear so we will be fine.
welder uses 50 amps at 230 V ac. its alot but its fine so far.
The lights dim inside the house on arc up!
On the weather front, we are managing but its cold and wet but the enthusiam for some reason makes it all livable. we have added 2 x 15w discharge lamps to light up the work area. those stands are for lighting rigs that we use and are over 18 ft tall! the finished hull will be taller.
regards to all for now.
Dirk.
